The purpose of this page is to show you why it impossible to take most people seriously. Ideally there would be one or two phone calls a day from people who are in the area and wanting to meet. HERE is a typical, random day - actually a Sunday, which is usually a quiet day.
8.15am - switch phone on, check missed calls - three different mobile numbers at 1.05am, 2.35am, and 3.30am.
9.50am - Someone we know wanting to visit. Sue out at work. He says he will ring in the afternoon, but doesn't.
10.20am - Withheld number call, seen an ad in a magazine. Sorry, don't meet via magazines.
10.30am - Withheld number call - hangs up when answered.
10.45am - Same again
10.50am to 11.30am - seven withheld number calls - all ignored.
11.30am - Mobile number, "Can I talk to Sue" - No, sorry
11.45am - Foreign Number - Saudi. Doesn't speak English ??
11.50am - Someone wanting to meet but ringing from a call box - No Ta - there aren't many people without a mobile these days, and most people using call boxes know we will recognise their mobile.
12.05pm - Withheld numbers start again. Answer one, hangs up, ignore rest.
1.05pm - someone rings having see web site. Doesn't introduce himself, wants to ask a few questions. Finally ascertain he lives very close by, so mutually agree it's best not to meet.
2.30pm - Mobile number - "Is Sue there". He says he has seen the web site. Suggest he reads it again and rings later. He wants to make an appointment. "We only meet people who have read our web site" ---- no introduction, asking for Sue... just can't be bothered anymore. He says "so you aren't bothered" - he's a psychic !!! Probably Ok, maybe genuine, but really annoying !
2.40pm - Mobile number wanting details -"Seen ad on Girl Directory" - ask him to simply do as it says and click on the link and read our web site.
3pm - a regular visitor (and friend), already on way, be here at 4.30pm. Making a 4 hour round trip.
3.15pm - Withheld number - asks for John, - sigh and cut him off.
3.16pm - Withheld number, cut him off straight away. Turns out to be another regular ringing from somewhere he has to with hold number from. Leaves a message saying who he is and that he will ring in two minutes.
3.18pm. Rings back. Wants to visit at 4.30pm. Try to arrange that one of them to come early and one later, but not possible, both are 70 minutes away. How strange ! This one says he will try and visit tonight instead.
3.30pm - mobile number enquiring about availability in a weeks time. Sigh.
3.45pm - mobile number just gives a one ringer.
3.46pm - withheld number hangs up (probably previous caller who forget to withhold his number ?)
4.10pm - Call from a number that has previously sent immature texts - didn't answer.
4.18pm - Two texts, someone wanting to call in for a quickie, then offering £40. Ignored.
4.40pm - Regular arrives.
4.55pm - Mobile number - asks to talk to Sue - no.
5.15pm - Mobile number - seen ad in magazine - ask if he has access to internet, No. Can't help then.
5.30pm - Foreign number - hangs up. Check it out - Florida.
5.35pm - Second regular visitor rings back to say he will visit at 6.45pm.
5.55pm - Man shouting down phone wanting to know what girls are available to send to Leeds. Sod off Dickhead!
...and then it all went quite - everyone at home and behaving themselves, until.....
11.25pm - young Asian lad (already in memory). Hangs up when answered. Rings again and asked if it we are an escort agency. No !
The moral of the story is this - yet again, regular visitors, brilliant. Anyone new, it is hardly worth answering the phone !
